Everyone was driving
they didn’t know where
I just sat and watched
couldn’t really care
perhaps to work
or some faraway place
either way
they couldn’t see your face

Your face was mine
to look at each night
over past midnight
at mornings light
or by a cup of tea
as we sat and talked

Yeah I didn’t really know
where the cars were all at
but you, me
and your face
I could handle that
