The garden bed now dark
rich in every way
plants alive and glistening
mulched in dry cut hay
her hair was long then damp
highlights toward her ends
his gloves covered in thorns
creasing at the bends
soon she would prepare their dinner
before making the bed at night
soon their candle flickered
above the baths first bite
as hot water met his hips
engulfing his slender thighs
knowing she was in the next room
awaiting his loving eyes
